To bear the brunt of something

Significado: llevarse la peor parte/ ser el más afectado.

 

Es una expresión muy buena para el C1. Cuando queramos decir que alguien es el más afectado por un «problema», usaremos el idiom «bear the brunt of something».

 

-The elderly are the ones who are bearing the brunt of Covid-19 as it affects them especially.

-The taxi drivers sector will bear the brunt of the tourism crisis down to Covid-19.

-Low inconme people bore the brunt of the 2008 econonic crisis
