Estas son las palabras que he aprendido hoy escuchando la radio. Espero que os sean útiles:

-Stem from (venir de )

Example: These problem stem from the terrorist attack a few years ago



-Strip off (despelotarse/desnudarse). Informal

Example: If one is searched by police, very often one must strip off



-Bide (one’s) time (esperar su momento)

Example: I’m just biding my time in an office job until a better position opens up at one of the local colleages

-To do something in a rage (hacer algo en un arrebato de ira)

Example: I quit English in a rage

-To be at gunpoint (estar a punta de pistola)

Example: I’m going to hold him at gunpoint



-At a glance (de un vistazo)

Example: The chef knew that the food was ready at a glance



-Deem (considerar)

Example: The defence deemed the judge’s verdict as very unfair



-In a bid to (en un intento de..)

-I did it in a bid to beat him

Creep (moverse con lentitud)

-The day crept by and finally it was time to go home.
